This is a great post, Todd! I've met a lot of founders who don't know about the importance of vesting when founding a company, and I've seen a statistic that says most startups fail due to issues between team members early on. I wonder if vesting would resolve most of the critical issues for these companies and their co-founding teams early on?

I am sure that vesting can resolve some of the issues that teams encounter but there can be so many issues that derail startups that is hard to say what percentage would get resolved but the vesting process. But you are right that vesting gives you more time to evaluate co-founders or critical staff before they have too much stock in the company.
