I agree. The challenge is how do smaller startups do this? Most of the examples that I found were larger and had more cash to make this happen. How does a company that is new, small and have a smaller budget leverage this concept as a moat in their industry? Not an easy problem to solve. Nick, thanks for reading and your comment. The Reciprocity Effect is 100% legit. I recently read numerous books on User Psychology and several of them highlighted this. One in particular was Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B. Cialdini. He really stressed this point. Another great article, Todd!
